Fees

We accept major credit cards and HSA/FSA cards. Payment is due at your appointment.

Insurance

Shields Psychiatry is a self-pay practice and does not accept insurance. We provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) for you to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan’s benefits.

Questions to ask your insurance provider

Does my plan cover out-of-network mental health services?
Do I have an out-of-network deductible, and how much have I met?
What portion of my visit fees may be reimbursed?
Does my plan limit the number of covered visits each year?
Do I need a referral or prior authorization for coverage?

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know at least 24 hours before your appointment. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed without notice may incur a $150 fee.

Good Faith Estimates

Patients who are uninsured or choose not to use insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges under federal law. The document below explains your right to receive an estimate.
